Community Campaign Saves Montclair Hockey Rink

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A community-led campaign to preserve one of Montclair’s most beloved recreational facilities reached a major milestone Tuesday night, as residents Monica Kurpiewski and Deron Siddons presented the Township Council with a ceremonial check representing $1.2 million raised to support the rehabilitation of Clary Anderson Arena, which is slated to reopen in September. Mayor Renee Baskerville expressed her appreciation for the contribution and noted that additional donations will continue to be welcomed.

Kurpiewski introduced Siddons, president of the Clary Anderson Arena Association (CAAA), which has served as the vehicle for the community’s fundraising campaign, noting that Siddons has been committed to saving the rink for years.
