Some of have inquired about the reclassification of high school sports officials to no longer be independent contractors - This was supposed take effect yesterday 10/01/2026.
Here is the latest information regarding this issue
"Spoke with Senator Paul Sarlo, who he says has been acting as a go-between for North Jersey high school officials with the Department of Labor.
Sarlo assured that operations are acceptable and officials' status won't change as of October 1.
Sarlo is working with the Governor's office to get legislation passed that would settle the question, confirming that high school officials are independent contractors."
